 Humble and Thankful! 

Although, there was a lot of unforeseen misfortunes happening to me since October... I am happy to say that, I love the Lord with all my heart! I still have life, my family, love, friends, and a GREAT support system.

I humbly can say Thank You Lord and Thanks to YOU. If you are just a reader of my blog, following me on twitter/facebook, a client, a potential client, bookmarked my website, passed out my card, came to a consultation meeting, read my yelp, etc... I THANK YOU!!!

I give my all and the amount of support from you feeds the energy I have to keep doing what I am doing!

Bigger and better things are in store for 2010 (don't know what they are yet...but the wheels are spinning in my head).

Once again Thank you for your support.

Peace, Blessings, Happy Holidays, & a Happy New Year!

Happy Holidays!!!

It has definitely been a loooooonnnnnngggggg time since I have THOUGHT about making a post! (I'm kinda bad at this lol and I have an app on my phone to make it easier!)

So, I'm doing a post because I wanted to show my 1st order of "A.K.PENNY Custom Gift Sets". I did a set back in May for a friend of mine and one of the recipients asked me to make her a set for Christmas. For my friend, I crocheted 10 purses (and sew-in lining with a pocket) and added whipped butter and sugar cube polish. Unfortunately, I didn't take a photo of that! Ugh...

Fortunately, when this lady called for a set I had my camera ready! I didn't make any crocheted purses because that was going to take too much time. Check out the pictures below. I'm very proud of these sets as well!

Also, I'm making 30 small samples for my chosen clients. (I have already picked them). This is the start of my hair care line for my clients. I'll post pictures for that soon.

Can you believe thAt this week I'm supposed to be on vacation?!?? Bananas! My mind never stops...help?! Lol

Going back to working on the samples....

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU AND YOURS!!!!

My Style Profile: Remix!

I just wanted to put up some photos of my style from the earlier post. I un-twisted the middle and rolled it up for this nice undo style! I love it!

Style Profile: Nubi Nubi Twists

Hey! Akiya here again with another style to profile.

I really like this style of twists because of the light fluffy feel to them. However, since the hair I use is a softer texture than the hair for the Kinky Twists or the Senegalese Twists, I do have to start the twist with a braid instead of a twists. But either way it's still a beautiful style.

Let me know what do you think by commenting below.

Until next...

Style Profile: Cornrow Bun

Hello Again,

Today I'm adding photos of one of my clients I did 2 days ago...She wanted a simple bun with cornrows. And there it is!

Until I get my products up and going, I used the Taliah Waajid's Style & Shine cream. It is great, a nice hold, excellent shine, and wonderful smell.

Let me know what do you think?

Until next time...

My Hairstyle: Cornrow Mohawk with Twists

Hello again,

As promised I am going to keep this blog updated. I was at the salon yesterday, had some time before my client arrived, and my hair needed help! Lol

I was inspired to do the above style on myself, by one of my clients (I did something similar to her hair).

Anywho, in the above pictures, I blow dryer my hair and cornrowed the sides like a mohawk, while leaving the middle out.

Now, in this picture I twisted the hair that was left out to complete the style. The best thing about this style isthe 2 for 1! I can wear it with the twists, or wear a twist out, or blow out the middle and wear that! Ok....sooo....that's a 3 for 1 but you get my point lol!

That's all for now.
Until next time....

Oops! I neglected you!

Please forgive me...

Well, it's been quite some time since the last time I posted any style photos, product updates or crochet/earring making. Shame on me! But, in my defense I have been crazy busy with clients.

I'm now really going to make the effort to keep this blog current for you. Starting of with getting the style photos posted and videos as well.

Here are the updates/additions coming soon...

1.) October 31st - November 2nd I'll be in Atlanta for the Taliah Waajid Natural Hair Seminar (http://www.naturalhair.org she has a great product line as well). I can't wait to go and come back with all new natural hair styling I'm going to learn! And!, I'm taking my video camera with me to video blog the entire trip.

2.) November 1st (really the whole month) I'm going to be giving away goodie hair treats (samples of my new products) to my current clients and 5 goodie hair treats to viewers on my new videos.

Well, that's enough for now...especially since I'm posting this on my phone instead of my computer lol!

Until next time....

JULY's Style of the Month!

Good Morning!!

July is here everyone and I was trying to figure out what to offer for July (since I didn't do anything specials for June). Started thinking about what styles haven't I done in a while or not at all.
I could not choose so, I created a poll for the website, this blog, and my facebook fan page.

Here were the choices:
  • Micro Braids (full head)
  • Micro Braids with Sew-In Extensions
  • Cornrows with Sew-In Extensions
  • Individual Tree Braids (full head)
  • Individual Tree Braids with Sew-In Extensions

Based on the results: Micro Braids and Micro Braids with Sew-In Extensions were tied!
My final decision is......
MICRO BRAIDS WITH SEW-IN EXTENSIONS
(human or synthetic hair)

If this is a style you would like to achieve please go to my site for the special price and to book your appointment before the calendar fills up: http://www.loveofhair.com
